Reddit Notifications for Slack & Discord
Find out when a Reddit user posts, without refreshing their profile all day.
When you need to keep up with a specific Reddit user — a prolific poster, an analyst, a leaker, someone who drops the news your team cares about — your only options are subscribing on Reddit itself or checking their profile by hand. Neither sends anything to where your team actually works. The post you were watching for goes up, gets traction, and you find out late.
Follow Bot watches public Reddit users for you and sends notifications straight to your team chat. You pick the users and pick the channel. When they submit a new post, your team sees it in Slack, Discord, Telegram, or Microsoft Teams — with the title and a direct link to the thread.
How it works
- Install Follow Bot in your Slack workspace, Discord server, Telegram group, or Microsoft Teams channel. Takes about two minutes. No API keys or developer accounts needed.
- Follow any public Reddit user with a single command. In Discord, type
/follow reddit spez. In Slack, use/followand pick Reddit from the menu. The bot starts watching that user's submissions. - Get notified when they post. Follow Bot checks for new submissions automatically. When the user posts, your channel gets a notification with the post title and a link to the thread on Reddit.
Who uses this
- Research and analyst teams following users who consistently post quality data, leaks, or breakdowns
- Community and brand teams tracking specific users who post about their product or industry
- Investing and crypto groups watching well-known posters for new threads the moment they go up
- Gaming and hobby communities following datamine and news posters so members hear it together
- PR teams keeping tabs on users who tend to surface stories before they spread
- Product teams monitoring power users and reviewers who post feedback and comparisons
What you get
Each notification includes:
- The title of the new submission
- A direct link to the thread on Reddit
- The username of the poster
- The post time in your local timezone
Slack shows these as attachment cards. Discord renders them as rich embeds. Telegram and Microsoft Teams use their own native formatting.
Follows users, not subreddits
Follow Bot tracks Reddit users — the accounts that post — not subreddits. You follow a username like u/spez and get notified whenever that person submits a new post, no matter which subreddit it lands in. If you try to follow a subreddit URL, the bot will tell you and point you to the right format. For watching a whole subreddit's firehose, Reddit's own per-subreddit RSS feeds are a better fit; Follow Bot is built around following the specific people you care about.
Why not just use Reddit's own notifications?
Reddit's follow feature was built for one person browsing on their own account. It doesn't work for teams.
It goes to one account. If your team needs to see a user's posts, everyone has to follow that user individually and watch their own Reddit notifications.
You can't route it. There is no way to send a Reddit notification to a specific Slack channel or Discord server, or to sort users into channels by topic or team.
It disappears. Reddit notifications are easy to miss and gone once cleared. With Follow Bot, notifications stay in your chat history to scroll back, search, and reference later.
It only covers Reddit. If you also watch Instagram, YouTube, X, or BlueSky, those need separate setups. Follow Bot handles all of them from one place.
Works with your team chat
Follow Bot works the same way on all four. The notifications look different on each platform because they use each app's native formatting: embeds in Discord, Block Kit in Slack, messages in Telegram, Adaptive Cards in Teams.
Frequently asked questions
Can I follow a subreddit instead of a user?
No. Follow Bot tracks Reddit users, not subreddits. You follow a username and get notified when that person posts. If you paste a subreddit link, the bot will let you know and ask for a username instead.
Does it notify on comments too?
No. Follow Bot tracks new submissions (posts) by the user, not their comments.
How often does it check for new posts?
Users are checked on a recurring schedule. New submissions typically show up in your channel within minutes of being posted.
Can multiple channels follow the same user?
Yes. You can follow the same user in as many channels as you want, and each one gets its own copy of the notification.
What happens if I remove Follow Bot from my workspace?
Your subscription is cancelled automatically. No users are monitored after the bot is removed, and you won't be charged going forward.
Also monitors
Follow Bot also tracks Instagram, BlueSky, Twitch, YouTube, and X. Same bot, same commands. You don't need a separate tool for each platform.
