BlueSky Notifications for Slack & Discord — Follow Bot

BlueSky Notifications for Slack & Discord

A lot of people are moving to BlueSky. Follow Bot watches any BlueSky account for you and posts to your team chat when they publish something new.

How it works

  1. Add Follow Bot to your Slack, Discord, Telegram, or Teams workspace.
  2. Run a command to follow a BlueSky handle (e.g., @journalist.bsky.social).
  3. When they post, your channel gets a notification with the post text, images, and a link to the original.

Who uses this

What you get

Each notification includes the full post text, attached images, the author's handle and avatar, and a link to the original post. The formatting is native to each chat platform: rich embeds in Discord, Block Kit cards in Slack, photo messages in Telegram, Adaptive Cards in Teams.

BlueSky and X together

Plenty of accounts are active on both BlueSky and X. Follow Bot monitors both, so you can track the same person on both platforms from one channel without switching tools.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a BlueSky account to use Follow Bot?

No. Follow Bot monitors BlueSky on your behalf. You don't need a BlueSky account or login.

How often does it check for new posts?

Every few minutes. New posts show up in your channel shortly after they go live.

Can I follow accounts by handle or DID?

Follow Bot takes BlueSky handles (e.g., username.bsky.social or custom domains). The DID gets resolved automatically.

Does it support BlueSky custom feeds?

No, it monitors individual accounts. You follow specific people and get notified when they post.

What if an account changes their handle?

Follow Bot saves the account's DID (decentralized identifier) when you first follow them. If they change their handle later, nothing breaks.

Other platforms

Follow Bot also monitors Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, and Twitch. Same bot, same commands, same channel.
